If you have a chance to catch one of their shows, you definitely should! Such a great sound with varying international instruments plus they are playfully interactive–Maile N.

I have been performing since 2004 and was featured in San Francisco Magazine’s Best of the Bay for yoga music in 2009. I am a singer and multi-instrumentalist and have performed solo and in various bands.

PUBLIC PERFORMANCE

I have a ritualistic aspect to my music and love to open or close events with musical blessings of the space, invocation songs, leading people in song, and sound healings/baths. I have provided the opening at Queer and Asian Conference, Empowering Women of Color Festival, Reimagine Festival at SF Jazz, CUAV, and 4th Annual Mental Health at the Intersections Conference. These days I perform in many sound baths both solo and with my band. I also have a high energy world music set where I have headlined at SF Pride Main Stage, Asian Heritage Festival main stage, the Queer Arts Festival, and SF International Arts Festival. I have offered educational musical performances at UC Santa Cruz, UC Berkeley, and Marin Country Day School where I presented world music and various instruments. I am available for a wide range (meditative blessings to high energy booty shaking sets) of gigs at festivals, fundraisers, schools/universities, etc.

PRIVATE EVENTS

I also perform at special private events such as house concerts, weddings, baby showers and blessings, birthday and graduation parties, funerals, and other rites of passage. I lead people through an interactive house concert and can help you design a beautiful ceremony and provide background music, lead people in song, offer sound healings/baths, etc. These experiences can be more passive or active depending on how much participation you and your guests would like.

Sacred SoundsSound Healing: Live Yoga Music & Sound Baths

Phoenix is a gift on so many levels. When they sing or play their instruments, there is an ethereal, healing quality that brings a deep sense of peace–Sherry Goldstein, Owner of Yoga Sanctuary, LV

I offer private, small group, nonprofit, institutional, corporate, and public performance sound baths both in person and virtually.

THE BENEFITS OF SOUND HEALING

Our bodies are vibrating with sounds (that we mostly can’t hear), and when certain parts are not well, they don’t vibrate at their optimal frequency. Sound has the ability to retune our cells. You often leave a session feeling relaxed, refreshed and renewed. You may feel more energized, lighter, or that you released something. Painful knots might break open as energy starts to flow through stuck places. Your whole body may vibrate and tingle.

WHAT HAPPENS IN A SESSION

I tune the body from root to crown. I often start with shamanic Buffalo drumming that induces the theta brain wave, which gives clarity, calm and increased creativity. Esraj is a beautiful, mournful stringed instrument from India that is great for opening the 2nd chakra. I also give didgeridoo sound healings over various chakras of your body. Didgeridoo is an earthy, low frequency with many overtones that is particularly helpful for breaking up energy blocks. Then I bring in Native flute to open the heart chakra. Hapi drum, hand pans, gongs, Tibetan and crystal bowls help open the higher chakras. Throughout the sound healing, I use my voice to call in healing through Sanskrit mantra and prayers, spirituals, shamanic chanting, and angelic singing.
